Roadrunner Softball Earns Sweep Over SUNY Orange County CC

The Roadrunner softball team registered a 10-2 triumph over SUNY Orange County in Game 2 Saturday for a doubleheader sweep.

Four players knocked in two runs apiece to spark the Game 2 win -- Emily MacGibeny, Caitlin Jackson, Morgan Fitzpatrick and Dana Medlar. Sophomore Janiece Robles went the distance on the mound for the win.

Coach Steve DePasquale's team won Game 1 by a 12-4 count after falling behind early.. Outfielder Nasyha Suarez paced the offense with three hits and three RBIs while winning pitcher Gemma Galloway hurled six innings in recording six strikeouts.

Prior to the doubleheader, the team honored sophomore shortstop  Emily MacGibeny, who was selected as RCSJ Woman of the Year and as an NJCAA All-American infielder in 2022. 

The Runners, who recently returned from a Florida road trip, improved their record to 8-6 overall.
