Roadrunner Softball registered a split Saturday vs. Division II Delaware Tech at home, blanking the visitors 8-0 in Game 1 and dropping a tough 6-4 decision in Game 2.
In Game 1, sophomore Janiece Robles earned the win, allowing 2 hits and striking out seven in five innings of work. The Runners erupted for 7 runs in the fourth inning for an 8-0 lead to put the game out of reach. Catcher Brian Cahall, shortstop Emily MacGibeny and DP Morgan Fitzpatrick drove in 2 runs apiece.
In Game 2, the Athletics raced to a 6-1 lead before a seventh inning Runners' rally fell short in the bottom of the frame. Fitzpatrick knocked in 2 runs while MacGibney chipped in with 2 hits.
The 16-8 Roadrunners will next host Salem Community College on Monday in a scheduled doubleheader.
