Roadrunners Sweep Suffolk CC for Second Time as Galloway and Robles Hurl Complete Games

The Roadrunner Softball team continued their dominance over Suffolk County College this spring, sweeping a twinbill over the Sharks on the road Sunday for the second time in three weeks.

In Game 1, centerfielder Flynn Blessing drove in three runs while second baseman Caitlin Jackson added 2 RBIs in a 7-4 triumph.

Freshman Gemma Galloway went the distance with 7 innings pitched and allowing just one earned run.

In Game 2, sophomore shortstop Emily MacGibeny knocked in 5 runs while Julia Petroski, Paige Fox and Blessing added two RBIs apiece to spark a 13-2 win. Sophomore Janiece Robles earned the win, scattering four hits in five innings.

Coach Steve DePasquale's team raised their season record to 22-10, including a 4-0 mark over the Sharks this seasoon. The two teans once again raised funds during the NFCA Strikeout Cancer twinbill Sunday.

Next up for the Runners is a doublheader at RCSJ Cumberland on April 18th. Game 1 is set to start at 3 pm.
