Roadrunner Women's Soccer Begins Tough Week by Blanking Middlesex CC
The Roadrunner women's soccer team is in the midst of its biggest test of the season during the current week with four key games on the agenda --- and coach Megan Ruttler's squad passed their first battle with flying colors.

RCGC improved its overall record to 8-4, including a 4-2 mark in the conference, when it blanked host Middlesex County College by a 6-0 score on Monday. Second-year standout Josie O'Donnell scored two goals, including the game winner in the first half, while Dehlia Fynes collected assists on the first three goals to lead the offensive assault.

Other goal scorers included Megan Lord, Kylie Guarente, Madelyn Buchanan, and Morgan Scott. Fynes, Cris Civate and Rebekah Mitchell also contributed assists.

In the nets, goalkeeper Michelle Salamoni earned the shutout with a pair of saves.

The Roadrunners raced to a 4-0 halftime lead on just eight shots, but then unloaded 14 shots in the second half for two more goals to close out the scoring.

"We're starting to be more disciplined in our system," said Ruttler. "We find success often when everyone is dedicated to their roles. We've been able to get lots of players involved in the attack. The work rate has improved as well. If we play this way for the remainder of the week, we will be 11-4. That's the goal."

To reach that goal, the Runners will need to beat Camden County College on Thursday in a 3 pm game at Total Turf, followed by road games at Bergen County on Saturday and Fashion IT on Sunday.

"The game vs Camden should be a good test," commented coach Ruttler. "Then, an overnight trip this weekend playing Bergen Saturday and FIT on Sunday. That too will be a test -- can we stay focused and healthy with back to back games? Four games in a week is tough!"

@RCGCWSoccer picks up third consecutive win on the road.

Next Up: Thursday 3:00 pm vs Camden CC - match to be played at @TTESportComplex in Mantua, NJ, will be streamed live for @NJCAATV. More details will be on our website late in the week
