Bluford Explodes in Second Half as Roadrunner Women's Soccer Dominates FIT at Home

The Roadrunner Women's Soccer team rolled to a 6-0 victory over Fashion Institute of Technology Saturday as Angelina Bluford scored 4 goals to spark the win!

Bluford, a freshman forward out of Pitman High, noted she is feeling comfortable in the Roadrunners' offensive scheme as the team evened their record at 2-2 on the season.

"We're really working well together as team, and we're starting to bring everything we have," said Bluford. "I'm trying to use my speed to help us with scoring opportunities."

The Runners built a 2-0 first half lead on goals by Bluford and Crystal Johnson. Then, Bluford exploded in the second half with 3 straight goals before teammate Madison Bridges closed it out with a goal for the final of 6-0. Emma Baus and Jasaleme Maldanado combined for the shutout in goal for RCSJ.

Following an 0-2 start, the Runners have now won 2 straight in convincing fashion -- and that is good news for first-year head coach Maria Grady.

"Everyone is working hard and understanding their roles," said Grady, whose team blanked Camden County College, 4-0, earlier in the week. "Hopefully we're in a good place moving forward."

The Runners now face two tough conference game in the coming week -- on the road at Union on Tuesday and at home vs. Brookdale on Saturday.
