Roadrunner Women's Tennis Puts It All Together to Top Ocean CC for First Win

It all came together at once, and that did not surprise Roadrunner Women's Tennis Coach Kristi Twardziak.

Following three opening losses, including two close defeats, RCSJ-Gloucester found its groove, rolling to a 6-3 triumph over visiting Ocean County College on Wednesday afternoon.

Doubles winners included Daisey Marrero and Aurora Ryan (First, 8-4 win), Irene Tantaros and Gina Poitras (Second, 8-0) and Peyton Schultz and Hannah Sharkey (Third, 8-1).

In singles competition, Tantaros (Fourth Singles), Schultz (Fifth) and Sharkey (Sixth) were all winners to help the Runners clinch the match.

"We've had a couple close losses -- but no one gave up and everyone continued to improve in practices. It all came together today."

Coach Twardziak hopes this success continues when the Runners face Northampton at home on Monday, Sept. 27 in a 4 pm start.
