The track and field teams travelled across the river to compete in the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University this past weekend. The teams are currently ranked #1 (women) and #2 (men) in the latest USTFCCCA National poll and are continuing to improve upon many of their performances each week. The Danny Curran Invitational is typically one of the largest competitions of the season for the Roadrunners. The level of competition and the weather cooperated to help the RCSJ Roadrunners return home with 11 NJCAA National Championship qualifiers.
In such a large competitive meet, any top 10 performances are impressive. Top 10 finishers for the Roadrunners were:
The women's 4x100m team of Precious Barclift, Dreana Algarin, Sabrina Baer, and Hailey Hartwyk placed 5th
The men's 4x100m team of Giorgio Bruno, James Coleman, Jayden Sanchez, and Elijah Reese placed 6th
Mariella Farrell placed 6th in the discus
Marques Hall placed 6th in the hammer and 9th in the discus
Kara Knorr placed 9th in the discus
Mike Taylor placed 9th in the hammer
The men's 4x400m team of Elijah Reese, Giorgio Bruno, James Coleman, and Jayden Sanchez placed 9th
The women's 4x400m team of Ashton Wiseley, Precious Barclift, Sabrina Baer, and Hailey Hartwyk placed 9th as well.
Some RCSJ Track and Field Alumni also fared well at the meet with a few top finishes:
Emily Hilt, now competing for Rutgers-Camden, placed 1st in hammer, 3rd in shot put, 4th in discus
Jude Misko, now competing for Rutgers-Camden, placed 5th in elite hammer
Jake Kolodziej, now competing for Rowan University, placed 1st in the 800m
Noah Cziryak, now competing for Rowan University, placed 8th in the 10k
