Roadrunner Kara Knorr Once Again Is Nation's Premier Field Events Performer in Women's Track!

In 2022, RCSJ field events standout Kara Knorr emerged into the nation's top field events performer in NJCAA competition when she earned All-American honors in four events, including three national championship triumphs.

After taking a year off from athletics, the former Woodstown High School star has shown that lightning can indeed strike twice! For Kara and her RCSJ teammates, this occurred during last weekend's NJCAA Division III Track and Field Championships when Kara repeated her 2022 performance by winning national titles in the shot put, hammer and javelin events and earning second place in the discus. In case you lost count, the total haul was three national titles and four All-American medals!!

Her winning throw in the shot put was 12.09m while she won the javelin with a season best throw of 36.31m. Kara captured the hammer with a season-best toss of 42.46m while registering a season best mark of 34.31m to place national runner-up in the discus.

"I wanted to prove this season that I could perform well on a national level," said Kara, who will continue her academic and athletic career at Rowan University when she graduates RCSJ. "I enjoyed my accomplishments two years ago, and it was great to be able to repeat the national championships in these events."

For her career, Kara has notched a total of 6 national championships and earned 8 All-American honors in field events competition. In 2022, when Kara also won three national titles for the Runners, she was named DIII National Women's Field Events Performer of the Year.

Her amazing RCSJ career followed a solid high school career at Woodstown, when she became the school's first female athlete in program history to win a state championship. She captured the Group 1 state crown on her final throw of the shot put event in Spring 2021, unleashing a solid throw of 38-feet to win the title.

And this past weekend stamped her legacy as one of the NJCAA's top field events performers in recent years as well as one of the best in Roadrunner track and field history.
