SEASON PREVIEW: New Era  in Roadrunner Volleyball Opens Under Coach Samantha Bevilacqua

A new era is set to begin! First-year head coach Samantha Bevilacqua is hoping to continue a proud, winning tradition as the Roadrunner Volleyball team opens the Fall 2022 season Wednesday, Sept. 7th with a 6 pm home match versus NJCAA Region 19 power Raritan Valley.

The Runners continued their winning ways last Fall, turning in a solid 18-6 overall record, earning the school's first-ever Region 19 title and first trip in school history to compete in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament.

Bevilacqua, who will be assisted by coaches Danielle Honey and Kyle Honey, will welcome back standout veterans such as Sloane Genovese (MB), Heidi Wolfe (RS/S), and Vanessa Caserta (DS). Meanwhile, incoming  freshmen recruits are expected to contribute and help the team enjoy a winning season.

Season Preview


Coach: Samantha Bevilacqua, First Season.

Assistant Coaches: Danielle Honey, Kyle Honey.

Fall 2021 Season: The Runners finished with an overall record of 18-6, winning the Region 19 title and qualifying for the NJCAA Division III National Tournament, where they placed overall nationally.

Season Opener: September 7, 6:00 pm, vs. Raritan Valley Community College at home.

Key Returnees: Sloane Genovese (Hammonton), MB; Heidi Wolf (Gloucester Catholic), RS/S; Vanessa Caserta (Washington Twp.), DS/L; Katelyn Boysen (Mullica Hill, NJ), MB; Samantha Kosche (Sterling), RS.

Newcomers: Ava McDermott (WashingtonTwp.), S; Kiara Maher (Paul VI), DS
