Former Central High (PA) Star Nick Rubino Signs Letter of Intent with Roadrunner Wrestling

A tradition will continue in the upcoming RCSJ Gloucester wrestling season in 2021. Head coach Dan Antonelli is proud to announce the signing of Central High (PA) wrestler Nick Rubino, brother of recent Roadrunner Mike Rubino, as the newest member of Roadrunner wrestling.

At Central High, Nick turned in solid records of 20-10, 5-3 and 12-2 from 2016 through 2019 for a career mark of 37-15 in PIAA competition. He has overcome past injuries to emerge as one of Philadelphia's top 170 and 182-pound wrestlers the past several seasons.

Like his brother, Nick was a member of Philadelphia's Beat the Streets Philadelphia (BTSP) program, which proved to be a life-changing affiliation for the 18-year old grappler. BTSP is a sports-based youth development nonprofit that is committed to fostering the holistic growth of student-athletes living in at-risk under-served communities.

Roadrunners' Coach Dan Antonelli is looking forward to Nick's contributions as a member of the team next season! Welcome to the program!

Nick Rubino on How Wrestling has Affected his Life

"I have learned when facing adversity a support system is essential. The unwavering confidence I had in achieving my goals was disrupted by reality. . . While not always easy, wrestling teaches us how to get up off the mat. And I'm going to continue to do just that."
