NJCAA Wrestling Championships: Simpson Leads Five Roadrunner National qualifiers

With five national qualifiers, the Roadrunner wrestling team competed in Friday's NJCAA National Wrestling Championships at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA.

Of the five Roadrunner wrestlers, 141-pounder Kyle Simpson advanced to the round of 16 before falling to Ridgewater's Cole Holien by tech fall, 15-0, 2:47. Earlier, Simpson recorded a 5-1 decision over Kyle Wilson from Henry Ford CC to earn a place in the 141 lb Round of 16.

Simpson finished the tournament 1-2 overall.

Two other RCSJ wrestlers competed in the round of 32 -- Bavly Nashed at 197 pounds and Bobby Meister at 285. Both wrestlers dropped two bouts each on Friday.

Also competing were Jacob McDonald at 125 pounds and Vinny Robles at 149. Both wrestlers also lost two bouts apiece to close out their compeititions.
