This week, Roadrunner Athletics honors standout cross country Charlie Hepler on his outstanding Fall 2023 campaign.

High School: Delsea Regional, attended 2 years before enrolling at RCSJ.

Major: Exercise Science. Hopes to attend a four-year college and continue his running career. He is strongly considering Monmouth University as a possible choice. Hopes to gain employment in sports medicine and possibly in education upon graduation.

Hobbies: Enjoys keeping up with track and field events around the world. He also has interest in MMA and jiu jitsu training. He also competed in the Junior Olympics after only 1 year of running

High School career: Ran two seasons of cross country at Delsea as a freshman and sophomore.

2023 Season: Charlie has steadily improved throughout the season, and was the Roadrunners' top finisher in the St. Joseph's Invitational in New York on Oct. 14th. He was also the team's top finisher in the Osprey Open at Stockton in a time of 28:59.

Charlie played a key role in the Runners' second place finish in the Fall 2022 Region 19 team championship meet in Delaware. He hopes to lead the squad to the team crown this Fall.

Charlie Hepler on his Experience with RCSJ cross country "Last year was very close between us and Brookdale. Ever since since the end of last year I've been thinking about improving. It really motivated me so we can get past them in the Region meet. It feels good that I can do so well -- but I can do better. I feel a fast time is coming in the Regional meet."

Coach Ryan Hughes on Charlie Hepler: "Charlie has been instrumental to our success the last two years. He's been dedicated and loyal to the team and sport, always looking and asking for ways to better himself as well as help the team.

"This past week he took charge of the race (St. Joe's Invitational) and led the team to the top JUCO finish in a 34-team meet. He earned a medal for his 15th place finish."
