This week, Roadrunner Athletics honors standout middle blocker/outside hitter Maria Kerby on her outstanding Fall 2023 campaign under Coach Samantha Bevilacqua. See her spotlight below. 

Name: Maria Kerby 

Sport: Women's Volleyball 

Positions: Middle blocker, outside hitter, defender.

High School: GCIT, Class of 2023.

Major: Liberal Arts. Hopes to open her own bakery once she receives her Associate's degree from RCSJ.

2023 RCSJ Season: Maria has started all regular season matches. Her regular position is middle blocker but in recent games she has stepped up to play defense and has helped the Roadrunners stay competitive in several matches this Fall.

In the 10 matches she has played, Maria has recorded 27 attacks, 4 blocks and 6 kills.

Maria Kerby on her Experience with RCSJ Volleyball: "I love being with my teammates and playing for Coach Samantha. We've improved a lot as a team and we've all become good friends."

Coach Samantha Bevilacqua on Maria Kerby: "We are proud of the season Maria is having, and she has set a great example for all of her teammates. She is enthusiastic, works hard, and constantly encourages her teammates on the court."
