Macenzie Long Chosen as Roadrunner Woman of the Year -- Will Be Honored February 9

Congratulations to Rowan College star volleyball and softball athlete Macenzie Long, who has been chosen as Roadrunner Woman of the Year!

Macenzie has been chosen as the RCSJ-Gloucester representative to the 28th Annual New Jersey National Association for Girls and Women in Sports Day event. The state-wide celebration for National Girls and Women in Sport Day will take place on February 9, 2020 at Seton Hall University. The program will include a state-wide awards luncheon, where outstanding high school and college/university female athletes will be presented with special awards from the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport.

A former Williamstown High standout, Macenzie helped to lead the 2019 Roadrunner women's volleyball team into the NJCAA Region XIX playoffs for a second straight season. She also was a key contributor for Coach Steve DePasquale's softball team at various positions, including catcher.

"Mac is the energetic soul of our team," said softball Coach Steve DePasquale."She brings excited energy and passion to every practice and game. Along with being a hard working softball player she is a dedicated academic student. Our program is lucky to have Macenzie Long with us."

An engineering major who plans on finishing her Bachelor's degree at Rowan University, Macenzie appreciates the impact sports has had on her life.

"Sports has always been a big part of my life, right on though high school and especially now in college," said Macenzie. "I hope I can inspire younger female athletes who follow me here."
