Game Day Preview

The Roadrunner Baseball team will host local rival Camden County College Tuesday, March 23, in a 9-inning game starting at 3 pm at the Baseball Complex.

The Runners, who swept a pair of doubleheaders this past weekend, enter the game with a 10-1-1 overall record and sit at No. 2 nationally in the NJCAA Division III National Rankings.

Pitching has been a strong point for Coach Rob Valli's team. Sophomore Marcus Eusebio and freshman Chris Widger are among the national leaders with a 0.00 earned run average each, while Widger ranks fourth nationally with 28 strikeouts. Eusebio has compiled a 3-0 record in the early going, Widger is 2-0, and lefty Joe Marino is 2-1.

There has also been no shortage of offensive firepower. Sophomore catcher John Cristino has emerged among the national leaders with 3 home runs and 17 RBIs to lead the way. Righfielder Sam Daggers has contributed 22 hits for an impressive .489 batting average while sophomore Dauri Genao has collected 14 RBIs.

The Runners already have one win over Camden County this spring, a 7-3 decision on March 17.
