Coach Rob Valli Picks Up Career Win 700 as No. 1 Roadrunners Rally Past Camden CC

Roadrunner Baseball Coach Rob Valli earned his 700th career win on October 26th with an 8-6 GSAC triumph over Camden County College in the 2024 home opener for the squad.

The Runners fell behind the Cougars 6-1, but rallied for a run on the fifth inning and 6 more in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull out the win. They raised their record 6-0 on the season following a three-game weekend sweep of Camden CC.

Valli, who is in his 15th season at RCSJ, now owns an impressive career record of 700-343-2. His career includes a 588-131-2 mark in charge of the Roadrunners' program. He also served as head coach at NCAA Division 1 Temple University.

Against the Cougars on Monday, centerfielder Gavin Degnan knocked in two runs while teammates Juan Peralta, Max D'Alessandro, and Joe Spaccavento also drove in runs.

Winning pitcher Lucas Hampel picked up his first triumph this spring while Enzo Descalzi earned the save, striking our five in two innings.

The Runners, who are the defending NJCAA Division III National champions and owners of a 6-0 overall record, will next play GSAC rival Middlesex College in a three-game home and away set this weekend.
