Roadrunners Topple Passaic CCC to Clinch Region 19 Playoff Berth Under Coach Brandon Williams

Saturday's surprisingly easy 97-64 triumph over visiting Passaic County Community College proved to be a milestone for Roadrunner Men's Basketball Coach Brandon Williams.

The win means the Roadrunners are playoff-bound, assuring the team of a Region 19 tournament berth for the first time under Williams.

"This means so much to me personally and to the program," said Williams, who is finishing his second season as coach. "These guys played their hearts out and have never given up all season. We're excited to have a chance to compete in the postseason."

Freshman guard Ace Lassiter once again sparked the offensive assault, pumping in 20 points to lead four players in double figures. Also chipping in were Hajir Davis (15 points), Kassius Willis (14) and Fred Orock (12).

"Every time he has the ball, he can score or make something positive happen," said Coach Williams about Lassiter. "Our offense is always ion good hands."

The Runners took command from the start, racing out to a 20-8 lead before extending the advantage to 58-31 by halftime. They never looked back from there.

Lassiter scored 14 of his 20 points in the first half while Davis netted all 15 of his points in the first half.

The Runners will close out the regular season at home vs. Montgomery County Community College on Thursday, Feb. 13, in a 7 pm tip-off. The Region 19 playoff seedings and first-round match-ups will be announced shortly after the conclusion of the regular season.
