Noah Heitz Kicks Off Scoring to Lift Roadrunner Men's Soccer Past Manor College

The Roadrunner Men's Soccer team finished up their regular season home schedule on a high note, using a goal and an assist from freshman Noah Heitz, to blank visiting Manor College, 4-0 Tuesday.

The win extended the Runners' unbeaten streak to 8 games and improved their overall record to 10-3-1.

Heitz started the scoring with a goal at 14 minutes with an assist by Gilmer Mendoza. Domenick DeAngelis made it 2-0 with a goal and an assist from Heitz at 32:00.

"Scoring the first goal and then going up 2-0 at halftime really got us on track," said Heitz following the game. "We're very confident right now and we're reaady for the upcoming playoffs."

In the second half, Owen Strohm made it 3-0 with an assist from Mendoza while Brennan Wheeler finished the scoring at 60:00 with an assist from Robert Piontkowski.

In the goal cage, freshman Lucien Maslin and sophomore Jason Coburn combined for the shutout, halting 5 total shots on goal.

Coach George Hobbins' team closes out the regular season with two key GSAC games vs. Brookdale CC on Saturday, Oct. 14th, in a 12 noon start, and on Tuesday, Oct. 17th vs. Atlantic Cape in a 3:00 pm start.

The Runners currently an 8-2-1 Region 19 record and are 6-2-1 within the GSAC.
