The Roadrunner wrestling team will be competing in this weekend's NJCAA National Wrestling Championship Tournament in Council Bluffs, Iowa as all 10 RCSJ wrestlers compete for National titles in their individual weight classes.

Bringing home individual titles out of last weekend's Eastern District Tournament were Nick DiGiacomo (125 pounds), Atlee Cullison (149), Dylan Fischer (165), Tyler Baer (174), Jaden Roberts (184), and Curtis Thomas (197). In addition, Thomas -- who recorded three pins on the day -- was chosen as the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler.
Finishing as runnersup were freshman C.J. Mazzarelli (133) and sophomore Mike Rubino (141). Also advancing to Nationals were John Fountain, who had a third place finish at heavyweight, and sophomore Jared Carr (157), who qualified as a wildcard selection.
"We're ready for action -- we had a great week of practice, and the guys are excited to compete in this tournament," said second-year coach Dan Antonelli. "We feel we're more prepared heading to Nationals this year, so we'll see what happens."

Sophomore Tyler Baer, one of the team's most consistent performers of the past two seasons, is excited to return to Iowa.

"I'm much more focused, and I know what to expect," he said. "Every match will be a battle."
