Roadrunner Standout Riley Onorato Commits to Division I Drexel University Wrestling!

Sophomore wrestler Riley Onorato has found a new home! Onorato, who enjoyed a solid 2019 campaign under Coach Dan Antonelli and who played a role in the Runners' resurgence the past two seasons, will wrestle flor Drexel University the next two seasons.

Onorato spent the past two seasons at RCSJ, where he went 17-6 as a sophomore and helped the Roadrunners to consecutive Garden State Athletic Conference championships. He completed his prep career at Paulsboro High School under Coach Paul Morina, helping the Raiders to consecutive Group 1 state championships. He projects to wrestle at 174 pounds for Drexel.

And the former Roadrunner standout will get to wrestle alongside brother Gabe Onorato, an incoming freshmen at Drexel. The two formerly wrestled together at Paulsboro and frequently worked out in a training center at Drexel through the years. At Drexel, Riley will also join several South Jersey wrestlers on the roster.

"I'm pretty familiar with a lot of wrestlers and coaches in the Drexel program from being at the training center," said Onorato. "And to wrestle alongside my brother again is great. This is a great fit for me."

Riley, who has two years eligibility and will major in Information Systems at Drexel, credits his time as a Roadrunner in helping him advance into an NCAA Division I program.

"It was great to help our Roadrunner program restore our tradition and win the GSACs two years in a row and the District title last year," Riley said. "Every tournament, every dual meet and ievery ndividual wrestler were tough. There were no easy matches, and it really helped me a lot."
