No. 5 Women's Soccer Team Blanks Visiting Bucks County Community College

Following an entire week off, RCGC women's soccer coach Megan Ruttler was happy to grab a win any way she could. And the Roadrunners did not disappoint their veteran coach.

Megan Lord (Glassboro) sparked the offense on a hot day with two goals and an assist, while goalkeeper Michelle Salamoni (Washington Twp.) posted a shutout to lift RCGC to a 3-0 win over previously unbeaten Bucks County Community College Thursday in a Region XIX game.
"I was concerned about not having played in a week and that we might come out rusty," said Ruttler. "The heat didn't help either. But we did enough to win, and we improved as the game moved on -- so we'll take it."

Lord scored the game's second goal on a penalty kick to help the Roadrunners to a 2-0 halftime lead. She then capped the day's scoring by firing in a goal with an assist from teammate Josie O'Donnell (Holy Cross) in the second half.

Kayla Davila (Buena) scored the game's first goal midway through the first half, with an assist from Lord, to give the Roadrunners a 1-0 advantage.

The triumph improved the Runners' overall record to 4-1. The No. 5 ranked team in the country in NJCAA Division III, RCGC will next host Camden County College on Tuesday, Sept. 11 in a 3:30 pm start.
