National Championship Tournament: Roadrunner Women's Soccer Falls to Brookhaven (TX) in Round 1

The No. 8 seed Roadrunner women's soccer team dropped a tough 2-0 decision to No. 1 seed Brookhaven College (TX) Thursday in the opening round of the NJCAA Division III National Championship Tournanment Thursday at Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, NY.

In the cold, wintry conditions, goalkeeper Allison Gebhart was lights out all match long but two goals snuck through on the day leading to a 2-0 win for Brookhaven.

Brookhaven's Victoria Sifuentes gave her team a 1-0 lead with a goal at 8:05 of the first half. Teammate Reagan Eichel broke open the tight game with a goal late in the second half for the final of 2-0.

The Roadrunners now move into the consolation bracket where they will face #4 seed Herkimer CC on Friday at 10:30am.
