Baer Closes Out RCSJ Wrestling Career with Fourth Place Finish and All-American Honors

Council Bluffs, Iowa -- Sophomore Tyler Baer began his Rowan College wrestling career behind the curve after being away from the sport for a brief time following his graduation from Pitman High School. Now he can add NJCAA All-American Wrestler at 174 pounds to his impressive Roadrunner resume under coach Dan Antonelli.

The former Pitman star compiled a 5-2 National Championship tourney record, including a fourth place overall finish. Baer set the tone early by recording a fall in 6:10 over Cowley's Jesus Nunez in the opening round.

"I came in with high expectations, and hoped to make it to the finals" commented Baer. "But overall, I'm extremely happy to finish fourth and to come away an All-American."

In earlier rounds, Baer was a winner by decision over Brian Torres (Nassau), 7-4 to officially clinch his All-American honors! Baer joined teammate Dylan Fischer as an All-American on a night no Roadrunner Wrestling fan will forget.
