Today, we look back on the career of former Gloucester County College tennis star Dimitri Athans.

Dimitri Athans will become the first Roadrunner Men's Tennis player inducted into the our Hall of Fame and his accolades speak for themselves. A two-time Region XIX Champion and two-time NJCAA All-American, Athans was the first Roadrunner to excel at that level, leading the way for future All-Americans and National Champions.

Athans came to the Roadrunners in 2006 as the first star recruit for head coach Brian Rowan. The program immediately saw the impact, competing on the regional level and earning a trip to the National Championships.

Athans teamed his first year with Ryan Finnie and the two surpassed all expectations with their unprecedented run at the National Championships, earning them a place in the #1 Doubles Final and All-American status.

In 2007, Athans led the team to their first NJCAA Region XIX Team Championship, earning points at the #1 singles and #1 doubles flight. At the National Championships, Athans teamed with Brian Crispin and once again reached the championship match to earn All-American status.

After competing for the Roadrunners, Athans earned a scholarship to compete at NCAA Division I New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he played two successful seasons and was named team captain in his senior season. Athans majored in Business Administration and later earned an MBA in Finance.

Athans currently resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife Caitlin and daughter Mila. He is a finance manager for Amazon.
