Murphy's Grand Slam Highlights Sweep of ASA College (NY)

Rightfielder Ryan Murphy ripped a grand slam home run to highlight an 11-run first inning to help the Roadrunners to a 16-1 triumph over ASA College and a sweep of a doubleheader at home on Saturday in a non-conference matchup. Murphy's blast cleared the right-centerfield fence to give RCGC an 11-0 first inning lead.

Designated hitter Alex Gattinelli contributed 2 RBI's to the winning effort as the Roadrunners improved to 6-1 overall. Gattinelii is off to a torrid place at the plate with 11 hits in his 22 at bats.

Right-handed pitcher Nick Evangelista went five innings to earn the win.

The victory was the sixth in a row for the Roadrunners.

Coach Rob Valli's team rolled to a 6-1 win in the opener.

Gattinelli and Jose Correa knocked in two runs apiece to support winning pitcher Jack Billings. 

Dauri Genao also chpped in with an RBI while Jake Catalano and Albert Munoz had stolen bases.

The Runners return to the field Sunday to take on Lehigh-Carbon CC in a doubleheader starting at noon. The Cougars are currently 6-0 this season.
