Season Preview -- Men's Soccer Program on the Rise

The RCGC men's soccer program has made major strides in evolving into one of the NJCAA Region XIX's premier teams, and that trend will likely continue into the upcoming 2018 season.

Coach George Hobbins'  team made a second straight appearance in the Region XIX championship game last Fall, and with a talented and deep roster returning, the Roadrunners may well blossom into a top- tier NJCAA Division III team this season.

Among the top returnees include sophomore midfielder Dylan Skidmore (Glassboro), who tallied 9 goals and 19 points a year ago. He will be supported by a solid supporting cast that also features All-Region XIX returning midfielder Andrew Sooy (Millville) and sophomore forward Zach Piro (Hammonton), who led the team with 22 points last Fall.

The Runners open the 2018 season with two tough opponent at homes starting with Harcum College on Thursday, August 23, followed by nationally ranked Howard Community College on Saturday, August 25.

Coach: George Hobbins; NJCAA career record 104-65-3, including 37-29-4 in four seasons at RCGC.

Last Season:  11-7-1 overall, 6-3-1 conference.

Season Opener: August 23, Harcum College, home; 1:30 pm

2017 NJCAA Region XIX Playoffs: Roadrunners advanced to the Region XIX championship game in 2017 for the second straight year and finished as runnerup to Camden County College.

Outlook for 2018: With 10 key returnees and several talented newcomers, Roadrunners will be among top contenders for NJCAA Region XIX and Garden State Athletic Conference titles. Top opponents include Camden County, Howard CC, Sussex County, Ocean County, Union CC and Raritan Valley among others.
