Sophomore back Connor Buechele scored two goals while five other teammates also netted scores to lead the Roadrunner Men's Soccer team to an easy 7-1 triumph over visiting Bucks CC in the season opener Tuesday at RCSJ.

Other goal scorers were Joe Romano, Jair Angel, Shane Baker, Fred Renzulli and Jose Marinero.

Romano, a midfielder, tallied the game's first goal 8 minutes into the first half with an assist from Dwayne Small. Marinero (assist from Kysen West) and Baker netted the next two scores as the Runners carried a 3-0 lead into halftime and never looked back,

Three goalies split duties to contribute to the win -- Jason Coburn, Joe Lomas and Jake Fisher.

"Everyone had a chance to play today and overall it was a solid game for us," said veteran Coach George Hobbins. "We have some tough games coming up, and we will need to step up our play."

Next up for the Runners will be a home match vs. Mercer County Thursday in a 1 pm start.
