The "Battle Under the Bridge" proved to be just that as the Roadrunner Women's Soccer Team blanked host Camden County College 6-0 in the nightcap of an exciting men's-women's doubleheader at Rutgers-Camden's Community Park on Thursday.

In the women's triumph, Miranda Uzadavines played strong while teammates Bailey Swietanski and Ella Van Dine scored early goals to lead the way.

Coach Megan Ruttler's team improved to 2-0 overall as they prep for a showdown at Region XIX rival Union County College on Sept. 16.

Earlier, the men's soccer team turned in a solid effort in a close 1-0 loss to Camden County College.

Joao Goncalves, with an assist from Malik Palmer, tallied the game's lone goal at 32:00 in the first half for the 1-0 lead. The Runners then came close to tying the score later in the half, but watched a potential score batted out of the goal cage at the last second.

Next up for the Runners (1-1) will be a road match at County College of Morris on Saturday, Sept. 11 in a 12 noon start.
