The Roadrunner Men's Soccer team finally found their offensive swagger, and it came just as time was running out in a highly competitive match at Brookdale Community College.
Freshman Connor Buechele netted the game winner with 16 seconds remaining, receiving an assist from Bilal Alhamed as the Runners claimed a heart-thumping 1-0 win over the Jersey Blues.
Sophomore goalkeeper Gunner Hoffman recorded 9 saves to earn the shutout as RCSJ-Gloucester ran its record to 4-1 overall.
The Runners made adjustments at halftime following a 0-0 standoff. Buechele and Alhamed helped the vistors cash with more than 89 minutes elapsed in the hard-fought defensive battle.
"Brookdale was the better team in the first half, and we knew we needed to make adjustments to get out of here with a win," said Runners' Coach George Hobbins. "Connor (Buechele) and Bilal (Alhamed) really stepped up when we needed them."
Next up for Hobbins' team will be a home match vs. Ocean County College at home on Tuesday, Sept. 21 in a 4 pm start.
