George Hobbins was appointed RCGC’s men’s soccer coach in the fall of 2014 and has resurrected the RCGC Men’s Soccer program into one of the best junior college programs in the nation. Since taking over the reins five years ago, Coach George Hobbins’ team have made four straight appearances in the Region XIX Tournament appearing in the Region XIX Championship game in 2017 and 2016. With a talented roster of players from the South Jersey area, the Roadrunners look to blossom into a top- tier NJCAA Division III team. Along the way, RCGC has placed 15 players on the NJCAA All Region XIX Division III Team and 19 to the All Garden State Athletic Conference Division III Team during Hobbins’ tenure. In 2016 Brian Palangi (Deptford HS) was named NJCAA Region XIX Division III Player of the Year. Also in 2016, Brian Palangi (1st Team) along with Chris Lenahan (2nd Team) were named to the NJCAA Division III All-American Team.

Coach Hobbins has a NJCAA career record 110-71-7, including 43-35-8 in five seasons at RCGC. He holds a USSF National "B" Coaching License along with a  NSCAA GK Level III National Diploma.

His love of the game prompted him to open the South Jersey Goalkeeping Academy as well as keep current on the latest soccer trends. As a coach, Hobbins employs a player-focused approach, concentrating on the advancement of their technical and tactical skills. He has held positions as Director of Goalkeeping for the New Jersey State Olympic Development, and Staff Instructor for New Jersey Youth Soccer.

George Hobbins began his tenure as RCGC Assistant Athletic Director in August 2016 after 36 years as a High School Guidance Counselor. Hobbins brings a long and distinguished background in coaching and academic counseling to his position. In his role as Assistant AD, Hobbins is excited to promote academics to his coaches and students in his Assistant AD’s position.

A Sewell resident, Hobbins served 11 years as coach of both the boys' and girls' soccer teams at Washington Township High School. He also coached soccer at Rutgers-Camden, Camden County College, Overbrook High, and Audubon High. He has earned numerous honors in his career, including selection into the South Jersey Soccer Hall of Fame, the Camden County College Hall of Fame and was NJAC College Coach of the Year.

Hobbins earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Temple University and his Master of Arts in Student Personnel Services from Glassboro State College. He also holds Graduate Certification from Glassboro State College in the following areas: social studies, Principal/Supervisor, and Director of Guidance.
