Men's & Women's Cross Country: Noah Cziryak and Jeanine Morrow Earn All Region Honors!

Congratulations to Jeanine Morrow and Noah Cziryak who earned All-Region Honors this weekend at the Region XIX Cross Country Championships at White Clay Creek Park in Newark, DE. Both hope to shoot for All-American honors next weekend at the Division III Nationals Championships in Westfield, MA.

In the men's race, Noah Cziryak (Triton) continued with his great leadership this season and was part of the lead pack for the entire race. He ended up placing 3rd in 28:47 over the 8k course to earn All-Region and All-GSAC honors for the second year in a row. Next up for the Roadrunners was the dynamic duo of Christion Anigilaje (Ft. Lee) and Ben Kellum (Clayton) placing 23rd and 24th in 31:32 and 31:44 respectively. Christion and Ben worked together the entire race, pushing each other up the hills and hunting their competitors.
Rounding out the scoring for RCSJ-Gloucester were Rob Brink (Morris Hills) and Steve Hubbard (Schalick) placing 40th and 64th in 33:31 and 37:07 respectively. Unfortunately, the men were missing one of their runners, which hurt the team competition, but they were able to finish 5th overall.

In the women's race, the Roadrunners were finally given the chance to race the 5k distance again to show how their hard training has paid off. The ladies were led by Jeanine Morrow (Wash. Twp.) who is competing in her first cross country season after previously starring in field hockey. Her switch has definitely paid off, and with her blazing finishing kick, Jeanine was able to finish in 3rd place overall, earning All-Region as well as being crowned the women's GSAC Individual Champion! Her time of 22:50 was a season best.

Next up for RCSJ-Gloucester was Kaitlyn Holland (Audubon) finishing in 26:00 to place 14th. Finishing up the scoring for the Roadrunner flock were Amanda Aydelotte (Collingswood) 22nd in 30:11, Erin Kelly (Sterling) 23rd in 31:49 and Katlynn Hewitt (Cumberland) 28th in 35:43. In the team scoring, the team finished as the 2019 Region 19 Runners-up with their 2nd place finish.

Next up, the teams will compete at the NJCAA National Championships hosted by Holyoke CC in Westfield, Massachusetts on November 2nd.
