Ampofo Leads Surging Roadrunner Women's Basketball to Fourth Straight Win at Camden County College

Moving deeper into the current 2023-24 women's basketball season, RCSJ Head Cooach Rich Cooper is beginning to see just how deep his Roadrunner team really is.

The Runners raced to their fourth straight win, improving to 4-2, by beating host Camden County College Thursday night, 76-60 -- and the win was fueled by a host of starters as it has been the past several outings.

In the win over Camden County, sophomore forward Maxine Ampofo turned in another stellar performance, collecting 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Three other players scored in double figures, including Destiny Hines (13), Tireya Wyatt (11) and Faith Rosa (10).

"We looked forward to starting our conference and region games," said Coach Cooper. "We wanted to see where we stacked up against teams from our area.

"This is a very deep team and we're starting to share the ball offensively and getting evryone involved. "

The two teams battled hard in the first half with the Runners taking control at halftime by a 35-28 margin. They finished off the Cougars with a 19-8 third quarter surge that put the game out of reach as the Runners held a solid 54-36 advantage.

Camden County was paced by starters Chloe Crago (22 points), Kayla Franklin (16), and Julia Maldonado, all of whom scored in twin figures.

Next up for Cooper's team is a road game at Bergen CCC on Tuesday, Dec. 12th, in a 6 pm tipoff followed by a Dec. 16th road game at Community College of Philadelphia on Dec. 16th at 12 noon.
