No. 3 Seed Roadrunner Women's Basketball Squares Off vs. No. 6 Passaic in Playoff Test

The Roadrunner Women's Basketball team opens the Region 19 North Atlantic District Basketball tournament Tuesday evening with a home game vs. No. 6 seed Passaic County Community College in a 6 pm tip-off.

The No. 3 Roadrunners, coached by veteran Rich Cooper, enter the quarter-final clash with a solid 22-5 overall record. The Panthers check in with an overall record of 11-15, having lost to RCSJ twice during the regular season.

The Runners hope to use a balanced offensive and defensive attack to hold back the Panthers. Top players include guard Anna Dipiero and forwards Jermyra Bethea and Shannon Pierman.

"We're ready for the playoffs although we know it won't be easy," said Dipiero, who has averaged a solid 10 points and 3.5 steals and 3.5 assists per game this winter. "We will do well as long as we execute our game plan."

The winner advances to play the winner of No. 2 Camden vs. No. 7 RCSJ Cumberland in the semifinal round.
