Clark, Rosa, Beecher Lead Roadrunner Women's Basketball Past Brookdale CC

The Roadrunner Women's Basketball team rolled to their 11th straight win, a 79-39 victory over visiting Brookdale Saturday, and head coach Rich Cooper and his players feel their team should be ranked among the best in the NJCAA Division III rankings.

Sophomore guard Jonaysia Clark tossed in 18 points while sophomore guard Faith Rosa netted 11 and freshman forward Deborah Beecher added another 10 points to lead the effort.

The Runners led the entire way, racing out to a 27-4 first quarter lead and extending the advantage to 49-15 by halftime.

"I think we're among the best in the nation, and we're showing it," said Cooper, whose squad opened the season with an 0-2 mark before winning 11 straight. "We're sharing the ball on offense and improving defensively all the time."

Clark, a starter last season, recently returned to the Runners' lineup and has made her mark offensively.

Beecher and Rosa, meanwhile, continue to improve and have been stable players in the Runners' offense.

"I think we should absolutely be ranked nationally," said Beecher, a former Pitman standout. "We have some outstanding players here, and we've really come together as a team."

Next up for the Runners will be a road game vs. RCSJ Cumberland on Tuesday in a 5 pm start.
