Hailey Hartwyk, Women's Soccer

Today we highlight sophomore soccer star Hailey Hartwyk, who has emerged as one of the NJCAA Division III's top center backs the past 2 seasons. She is enjoying another outstanding campaign under head coach Maria Grady in helping the Roadrunners gain recognition in the NJCAA D III National Rankings. Hailey is also a key member of Coach Ryan Hughes' women's track team, helping the team earn a Division III national runnerup spot during the Spring 2022 National Championship Meet! Year: Sophomore
Hometown: Williamstown

High School: Woodbury High, Class of 2021.

Major: Psychology. Hopes to continue her education at Rowan University and one day become employed as a Child Therapist in either private practice or in a school setting.

About Hailey Hartwyk: Hails from a local family known for athletics. Her Mom is current Roadrunner Assistant Women's Basketball Coach Tara Hartwyk, who was a former star Roadrunner athlete and prominent South Jersey scholastic basketball coach.

Hailey has the distinction of having played on two RCSJ teams -- women's soccer and women's track -- that advanced to national championship tournaments during her freshman year. She will continue to play both sports during her sophomore year.

As a hobby she enjoys painting with acrylics.

Positions: Soccer -- Center Back; she has emerged as one of Region 19's top backs, helping the team qualify for the National Championship Tournament in Fall 2021.
Track & Field: 400 meters, 4x400m relay, 4 x 100m relay, triple jump and pole vault. Hailey earned to 10 finishes in each of her events in the NJCAA D III National Track & Field Championships in Spring 2022. Her 4x400 m relay team earned All-American honors for the first time in school history during the Championship meet!

Hailey Hartwyk on Competing in Roadrunner Athletics: "I like to hang out with the team and also study in the cafeteria," she noted. "We have a great bond here, and that's because the coaches, administrators and staff are super supportive of all of our efforts in sports and in the classroom."

Women's Soccer Coach Maria Grady on Hailey Hartwyk: "Hailey has been a staple in the back since the beginning of the year," she commented. "She knows how we want to play and she executes it positively to everyone around her . She has become very vocal this season in the back and has a very good way of talking to our players. They respond well to her and it is clear she is very well respected by her teammates as well as coaches. We are lucky to have her and thankful for the job she has done for us, so far."

Women's Track Coach Ryan Hughes on Hailey Hartwyk: "Hailey is an amazing asset on and off the field," noted Coach Hughes. "She is one of the hardest working members of the team and her enthusiasm is contagious. She was an integral member of our relay teams last season, helping the 4x400m relay team earn All-American status for the first time in school history!  We are very excited to see what is in store for next season."
