Roadrunner Baseball Blanks Herkimer, Advances to NJCAA DIII National Semifinal Round

Sophomore Danny Kerr proved rock solid on the mound, allowing 2 hits in 5 innings as the No. 1 Runners rolled past No. 5 Herkimer, 10-0, in a second-round NJCAA DIII Baseball World Series game in Auburn, NY.

Kerr showed no effects from a minor strain suffered in last weekend's Region 19 championship tournament. He dominated the Herkimer hitters from start to finish, striking out three and walking just one.

Shortstop Caden Dulin provided plenty of offensive support with 2 hits, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Leadoff hitter Gavin Degnan added two RBIs to the offensive assault in the win over the Generals.

The Runners scored a run in the first inning and then broke it open with four runs in the third and five more in the fourth inning.

Next up is No. 2 seed Dallas-Richland in a national semifinal. Dallas-Richland beat Dallas-Eastfield, 3-2, in the other second-round game Sunday. The national semifinal is set to be played on Monday, May 27th, Memorial Day at Falcon Park in Auburn, NY. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
