Roadrunner Baseball back in the hunt, sweeping a doubleheader vs. visiting Northern Essex by scores of 2-0 and 12-7 on Saturday. Coach Rob Valli's team improves to 3-1-1 overall.

In Game 1, Greg Rossi knocked in the winning run in a two-run third inning to lift the Runners to a 2-0 triumph. Winning pitcher Marcus Eusebio was superb, going seven innings and allowing one hit and striking out five.

In Game 2, the bats came alive as RCSJ erupted for six runs in the second and 10 in the first three innings in a 12-7 win. The Runners received plenty of production from the top of the lineup as lead-off batter Sam Daggers collected four hits and one RBI followed by Dauri Genao, who had two hits -- including a home run -- and knocked in four runs. Sophomore Joe Marino hurled 2.1 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win.

The Runners face Northern Essex today in another doubleheader starting at 12 noon.
