Dylan Skidmore led a balanced but aggressive scoring attack to help the N. 4 seeded Roadrunners advance to the NJCAA Region XIX finals with 5-1 win over No. 5 Montgomery County College on Wednesday.

Skidmore booted in two goals -- one in the first half and one in the second as the Runners grabbed a 2-1 halftime lead before breaking it open with three more goals.

"We really came out attacking today --we couldn't wait to get out here and play this game," said Skidmore, a freshman out of Glassboro High School. "We have a lot of talent, but we've also worked hard to improve ourselves."

RCGC also received goals from Andrew Sooy, Zach Piro, and Osman Barrie. Piro added an assist as he turned in a solid two-way performance. Goalkeeper Chris Lenahan made several eye-opening saves against a relentless Montgomery attack to keep RCGC in the driver's seat.

The Runners face a tough test coming up against No. 1 seed Camden CC Saturday at County College of Morris at 2 pm.

The win improved RCGC's overall record to 11-6-1 following an 0-3 start, and head coach George Hobbins was naturally beaming with pride following the key win.

"If you had told me back in August that we would have an 11-win season, I might not have believed it," said Hobbins, whose 2017 roster is loaded with talented freshmen players. "This is a tribute to their hard work -- and you could see that today. They were aggressive the entire game, and I'm proud of how far they've come."
