Roadrunner Men's Soccer played a great game but fell in the Region 19 Tournament to Brookdale CC at home on Saturday.

Brookdale scored early in the first half to take a 1-0 lead. Shane Baker scored on a headball to tie the game but Brookdale answered with 9:00 minutes to play and held on for the win.

The Roadrunner Men's Soccer team has earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming NJCAA Region 19 Division III tournament.

The Runners will host No. 5 Brookdale CC in an NJCAA District East A semifinal on Saturday, October 23 in a 12 noon start with the winner advancing to play No. 1 seed Camden County College. The top-seeded Cougars (12-1-2) have a first-round bye. Coach George Hobbins' team enters the tourney with a 10-5 overall record while the Jersey Blues come in at 9-4-1.  The Runners edged Brookdale 1-0 in a regular season match. 

"This is a brand new season for us, and we need two wins to make it to the National Championship Tournament," commented Hobbins. "We're excited to be here, and we'll need to step it up a notch to reach our goal."

In the "B" bracket, No. 2 seed Sussex County Community College will await the winner of No. 3 Ocean County College vs. No. 6 Salem Community College. The Vikings and Mighty Oaks will meet October 23rd at 1 pm in Toms River, NJ.

The "A" bracket champion and "B" bracket champion will each advance to the NJCAA National Championship Tournament.
