Weekend Wrapup: Piro, Skidmore, Smith Score Goals, Lenahan Ties Shutout Record as Men's Soccer Wins 3rd Straight

After a rough start to the 2017 season, the RCGC men's soccer team is ending the campaign on a surge.

The latest win came Saturday when the Roadrunners blanked host Passaic County College 3-0 in a Region XIX contest thanks to goals by Zach Piro (Hammonton), Dylan Skidmore (Glassboro) and Drew Smith (Kingsway). 
 
Chris Lenahan (Schalick) collected his seventh shutout of the season and the team's eighth overall. Lenahan's mark ties the school record while the team sset a new school mark with its eight shutout. 
 
The victory was the third in a row for Coach George Hobbins' team. 
 
"The team is communicating much more effectively, especially on defense," said Hobbins. "It's good to see the players pick it up a notch, especially with the playoffs ready to start this month."
 
After a rough 0-3 start, the Roadrunners have boosted their record to 8-6-1 overall and 7-4-1 in Region XIX play with their third victory in a row. 
 
The Runners will next travel  to Williamson Trade on Tuesday in a 6:30 pm start.
