Andrews Does it All to Help Roadrunners' Men's Soccer Win Key Game Against Morris

Freshman Bobby Andrews has slowly but surely adjusted well to the upbeat tempo of college soccer.

It all paid off for the former Delsea Regional High School standout Saturday as he scored the game's first goal and turned in a solid two-way game to lead the Roadrunners to a 2-0 victory over visiting County College of Morris in men's soccer action.

Following Andews' first half goal, Zach Piro (Hammonton) capped off the scoring with a late second-half goal to put the finishing touches on a defensive battle.

Goalkeeper Chris Lenahan (Schalick) posted the shutout behind a solid Roadrunner defensive effort.

The Roadrunners evened their record at 5-5 overall (4-3 Region XIX).

"When we play good defense, we're going to be okay," said Andrews. "And in games like this, once we score (the first goal) we're confident we can lock it down."

Head coach George Hobbins noted that Andrews' level of play keeps improving as the season moves forward.

"Bobby Andrews keeps getting better, and today he had a heckuva of a game," said coach Hobbins. "He scored the first goal to give us the lead. Then Morris was pressuring us in the second half, and we put Bobby back in and he settled us down."

The Roadrunners will host Union County in a Region XIX battle Tuesday at home.
