MATCH DAY -- Salem CCC Edges Roadrunner Men's Soccer on Late Rally

A late rally doomed the Roadrunner Men's Soccer team in their road match against GSAC opponent Salem Community College Monday at Total Turf Experience.

The Runners fell behind 1-0 at halftime on a goal by the Oaks' Yorhan Martins but quickly bounced back. Freshman Owen Ogden tallied an unassisted goal, his seventh of the season, while teammate Jose Marinero, with an assist from Bailey Cifone scored to 2-1 at halftime. Salem tied it at 2-2 late in the second half to force overtime on a goal by Alejandro Rivera. In OT, the Oaks clinched the win on a penalty kick by Marcos Piao.

The Runners registered 16 total shots, including 10 shots on goal, but it wasn't enough as they lost their second straight and fell to 10-4 overall.

Next up for the Runners will be the regular-season finale Tuesday afternoon vs. Eastern University JV at home in a 3:30 pm start.

 

Match Day Preview

The Roadrunner Men's Soccer meets Salem CCC at Total Turf Monday afternoon at Total Turf Experience in a 2:45 start. The match is a makeup from a postponed game last month. 

Runners enter match with 10-3 overall record following a tough double overtime loss to Sussex County this past weekend.
