Roadrunner Men's Soccer captured the Rowan College Derby Shield with a 5-0 win over RCSJ-Cumberland Tuesday -- and the triumph continued a solid campaign in which the squad has emerged as one of the top NJAA Division III teams in the nation.
Five different players scored goals including Joe Romano, Mike Rizzo, Shane Baker, Owen Ogden and Jonathan Cerino. Rizzo, Baker, Salvatore Giuliano, and Jose Marinero each record assists as the Runners improve to 6-2 overall this season.
Head coach George Hobbins complimented his team afterwards as the players celebrated winning the RC Derby Shield from RCSJ South Jersey Dr. Fred Keating.
"This is a great bunch of guys and they had a nice game," said Hobbins. "Everyone had a chance to play. It was a nice win for us."
Next up for the Runners will be a tough road match at Bucks County Community College on Thursday in a 3:30 pm start.
