Women's Basketball On Four-Game Win Streak

Point guard Naiyana Sabb tossed in 17 points and forward Yazmin Trueblood pulled down 12 rebounds to lift the Roadrunner women's basketball team to a 56-45 triumph over host Camden County College on Tuesday night in a Garden State Athletic Conference contest.

The win was the fourth in a row for coach Rich Cooper's team, which now has a 4-2 overall record and are 4-0 in the conference.

The Runners raced to a 31-11 halftime lead as Sabb, a former Gloucester Catholic star, scored 13 of her 17 in the first half. Trueblood, meanwhile, controlled the boards with efficiency and helped her team hold off the Cougars in the second half.

"I'm gaining a lot of confidence near the basket and was glad to contribute," said Trueblood, a former Woodrow Wilson standout. "I hope to continue showing some improvement and getting my offensive game going."

Coach Rich Cooper's team is off until Saturday, Dec. 1 when they host Bergen Community College in a 12 pm contest.
