Women's Basketball -- Roadrunners Hit On all Cylinders to Win Home Opener Over Sussex CC

After a tough start to the season against two nationally ranked opponents, the RCGC women's basketball team surged into the win column in their home opener.

Forward Kadina Harris-Hood deposited 16 points and guard Tierah Bush chipped in with 14 as the Roadrunners won their home opener by a 68-46 count over Sussex County Saturday.

Guard Naiyanna Sabb added 12 for the winners.

The win followed a pair of losses in the Onondaga Invitational last weekend to two nationally ranked clubs.  A return home proved to be just what the Runners needed.

"We turned up the tempo on defense and we were able to spread out the scoring," said coach Rich Cooper. "It was a nice win all around."

The Runners raced out to a 31-17 halftime lead as Harris-Hood connected for 12 of her 16 points

RCGC hopes to keep the momemntum moving forward as they host Borough of Manhattan on Monday night at 6 p.m.
