RECAP: Roadrunner Women's Basketball Knocks Off Ocean CC on the Road

GAME RECAP:

The Roadrunner women's basketball team advance their recond to 5-3 after beating the Ocean County Vikings with an 88 - 82 overtime win.

With four players in double figures, Qeiajae Canty led the way with 23 points.

The Roadrunners held the lead for a majority of the game but the Vikings snatched the lead by 1 with less than one minute of regulation time remaining. A technical foul called against the Vikings head coach with 30 seconds to go, sent  Kylar Coughlin (8 points) to the free throw line where she went 1-2 sending the game into overtime.

With impressive play by Trina Deveney (18 points), Mya Lewis (17 points), and Syria Bass (15 points), the Roadrunners were able to clinch the win ruining the Vikings 3 game winning streak. 

Next up, the Roadrunners will host sister school RCSJ-Cumberland on Tuesday at 5:00pm in the Roadrunner Athletic Center.

 

GAME PREVIEW:

The Roadrunner women's basketball team will look to win their second straight game when they visit Ocean County College in a 12 noon start Saturday, November 23.
Top scorers for Coach Rich Cooper's Runners include guard Qeiajae Canty (Atlantic City, 16.2 ppg), and forwards Nikita Acker (Triton Regional, 9.7 ppg) and Trina Deveney-Bethea (Cedar Creek, 12.5 ppg, 7 rebounds/game).

The Runners enter Saturday's contest with a 4-3 overall record. They will face a Vikings team that enters the matchup with a 3-0 overall record and 3-0 within Region XIX and the GSAC.
