It's crunch time for the Roadrunner's women's basketball team as they face a critical test vs. Garden State Athletic Conference rival Ocean County College in a 12 noon home match Saturday, January 25.
The Runners enter Saturday's contest with a 13-6 overall record and 8-2 GSAC mark. They will face a Vikings team that enters the matchup with a 10-3 overall record and 8-2 within the GSAC.
More importantly, both clubs are just one game behind Passaic CC in the conference standings. RCSJ-Gloucester survived the first meeting between the two at Ocean County CC in November with an hard-fought 88-82 overtime victory.
Runners' head coach Rich Cooper expects nothing less this time around.
"It will be a battle, no doubt -- just like the first game," said Cooper. "Ocean County is well-coached and they have talented players, so we can't afford any letdowns."
In a recent win over Montgomery County Community College, forward Trina Deveney-Bethea scored 21 points to lead four players in double figures.
