Women's Basketball: Deveney-Bethea Leads Way as Roadrunners Slip Past Middlesex

Sophomore forward Trina Deveney-Bethea exploded for 31 points and 13 rebounds while blocking 8 shots to lead the Roadrunner women's basketball team to their third straight victory, a 92-70 win over visiting Middlesex College Tuesday night.

Deveney-Bethea, a returning Region XIX All-Star, was supported offensively by teammates Qeiajae Canty (18 points), Danielle Jeffreys (14) and Charlie Baldwin (9) as RCSJ improved to 3-0 overall to start the Spring 2021 campaign. Canty also dominated the boards with 15 rebounds while Jeffreys collected 9 rebounds.
 
The Runners led from start to finish, claiming a 21-16 first quarter lead and a 41-29 halftime advantage. They also outscored the Blue Colts 23-17 in the third quarter and 28-24 in the fourth period.
 
Next up for head coach Rich Cooper's team will be a road trip to Union County in a 6 pm start on Tuesday, March 16.
