Top-Seed Roadrunner Women's Basketball to Host No. 8 Middlesex in Playoff Match

Top-Seed Roadrunner Women's Basketball to Host No. 8 Middlesex in Playoff Match

Following a dominant regular season, the Roadrunner Women's Basketball team hopes to continue their success in the upcoming Region 19 Division III playoffs as the tournament's No. 1 seed.

RCSJ enjoyed an opening round bye and will now host No. 8 seed Middlesex College Tuesday afternoon in a 5 pm tip-off in a North Atlantic District quarterfinal matchup. The Roadrunners completed a solid regular season with an 18-6 overall record on their way to winning the Garden State Athletic Conference championship.

Head Coach Rich Cooper knows his team must be ready for tough competition in the postseason.

The Runners, led by Region 19 All-Stars Danielle Jeffreys and Jonaysia Clark, completed a tough regular season schedule against top Region 19 and nationally ranked teams.

"Nothing is handed to you in the playoffs, and we believe we're ready for the challenge," said Cooper, whose program hopes to win a second straight Region crown and third since 2018. "We held our own against a tough regular season schedule, and hopefully that will help us in the postseason."
