Lubrano Goes on Shooting Spree as Roadrunners Close Regular Season with Win at Northampton CC

Sophomore forward Luciano Lubrano hit five 3-pointers to help lead the Roadrunner Men's Basketball to an 82-79 win on the road over Northampton CC Thursday night.

The Roadrunners finish their regular season 27-3 overall and atop the NJCAA Region XIX standings. Coach Will Wareham's team holds the No. 5 spot in the NJCAA Division III National Rankings. 

Forward Stevynjaamad Hawkins collected a game-high 16 rebounds and guard Tyler Lunsford stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to also highlight the victory.

The Roadrunners trailed 41-37 at halftime but made four three-pointers in the first four minutes of the second half as Ja'Zere Noel connected on the first, then Lubrano hit the next three. After a Spartan turnover, the Roadrunners increased their lead to seven points when Zy'Mire McCray slammed home a dunk in the open court.

DJ Henderson and Lubrano also combined in a defensive effort on Spartans leading scorer Jay Davis who finished his night shooting 9-34 from the field.

Freshman Stan Martin contributed 8 points off the bench.
